Droid Life Q&A Session: Google I/O Edition
As most of you know, we spent all of last week in San Francisco, attending Google I/O. We haven't had a chance to fully reflect on it yet, so since this happens to be one of our Q&A session weeks, we thought you could all help us do that. Rather than the normal Android chatter that these sessions tend to focus on, this week it will be all about the I/O experience, our thoughts, and what we did while we were there. So as usual, you can ask us whatever you'd like, but try to make it somewhat relevant to last week's fun. You can ask for our opinions on the Nexus 7, Jelly Bean, or the Q if you'd like. You can quiz us on what sights we saw or restaurants we frequented. Have at it in the comments below.
Galaxy S III coming to AT&T July 6th, starting at $199.99
The flagship Android device of 2012 is going on sale at AT&T stores this Friday, July 6th. Pricing will match that of other carriers, with the 16GB variant going for $199.99, and the 32GB model retailing at $249.99. In addition to the Marble White and Pebble Blue options, AT&T will be offering a red variant, though the red model won't be available until later this summer.
What more can we say about the Galaxy S III? It's easily the best Android smartphone on the market today, and likely will be for quite some time. The extra GB of RAM (2GB) makes the phone really fly, and will ensure the device receives the latest and greatest Android OSes for a lengthy period of time.

- 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
- 2GB RAM
- Android 4.0

- 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera
- NFC

- S-Voice
- 16/32 GB on-board storage
- 2,100 mAh battery
Who out there is planning on making the Galaxy S III their next Android phone? Sound off in the comments.
Google’s Sound Search App from Jelly Bean Made Available for Non-Rooted ICS Devices
One of the many awesome features that Jelly Bean has brought to the Android table is Google's new Sound Search or "Ears." It is designed to replace well known applications such as Shazam and SoundHound by hearing music that is played, recognizing it, and then linking to Google Play to buy the track.
When first ported, it was only working on root-only devices, but now, it's been made available for
Verizon Expanding 4G LTE Network Into Montana, New Spots in Idaho
As someone that grew up in Montana, news of Verizon's 4G LTE network finally showing up is music to my ears. The fact that it will be in my home town is even more amazing and yet another reason for me to go back and visit more often. For my friends back in Big Sky Country, and who live in Missoula, Kalispell (including Whitefish), and Bozeman, you will have 4G LTE in the "coming weeks."
Montana isn't the only one seeing love though, as new towns in Idaho have been announced as well. Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and Burley will go live in the "coming weeks."
Factory Images Released for the Nexus 7 JRN84D
If you were at Google I/O last week, then chances are that you didn't pass up the chance to pick up a Nexus 7 tablet. If you did, feel free to hack the hell out of it, as Google has already released the factory images for the device. Dropping in as Jelly Bean version JRN84D, will want to keep this tucked away for use later on. We don't know for sure yet, but these could potentially be used on the retail version of the device that you all pre-ordered for mid-July.
