Nearly-stock Android 4.0.4 Acer Liquid Gallant and Gallant Duo unveiled ahead of IFA

Looking to get a head-start on the IFA announcements from the major Android players, Acer has unveiled two new Android 4.0.4 powered handsets – the Liquid Gallant and Liquid Gallant Duo. Both handsets are identical, save for a second SIM card slot on the Liquid Gallant Duo for those who simply can't live with just one SIM card in their phone. Acer's new Android phones are not going to compete with most high-end phones, but we're sure you'll be pleased to hear that both devices are running a bare-bones version of Android with only a few added widgets and system tweaks.

Both phones feature a 1GHz MT6575, 1GB RAM, 4.3-inch qHD display, 1,500mAh battery, 4GB of internal storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR, 5 MP rear camera with LED flash with 2.5D, touch to focus and panoramic mode, and improved audio with a virtual enhanced Surround Sound feature which can be used during calls or while listening to music.
