[Life Canada] New post in Android videos : HTC’s DROID Incredible X could become the Nexus 5

HTC’s DROID Incredible X could become the Nexus 5

Last week we saw a leaked Verizon roadmap that listed the DROID Incredible X, which will sport a 5-inch 1080p display as well as the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus. The latest news out of GSMArena is that an anonymous tipster claims that the same device will also be a Google Nexus device, called the Nexus 5. It’s obviously not the 5th version of a Nexus phone, so it’s a play on the display size, just like the Nexus 7.

Other than the display and CPU I already mentioned, it will also sport 2GB of RAM, a 12MP camera, 64GB of storage, and a 2500mAh battery. These are essentially the same specs as the DROID Incredible X, but the the Nexus 5 will have one glaring difference; stock Android. Speaking of that, the rumor is that there won’t be a major version of Android announced, but we could see Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which would include some bug fixes and other enhancements. I’m thinking the multi account feature that we recently saw might be one of those “enhancements.”

I still don’t think this will be the only Nexus device. We already saw more evidence of the Galaxy Nexus 2 (or Galaxy Nexis Premier) earlier today and there’s rumors of LG releasing a Nexus device based on the Optimus G. The big question is what the hell is Motorola doing? I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out with a Nexus device based on the DROID RAZR M. This way Google will have a variety of Nexus devices at all price points. Time will tell. Get ready because this freight train is just getting started.
