The Samsung Galaxy S II was arguably the best smartphone of 2011, with its super sized display, beefed up specs, and various model builds including the Galaxy Nexus for Verizon Wireless. While the S II was announced at Mobile World Congress in February 2011 only to launch a few months later, Samsung decided to hold off on announcing the follow-up Galaxy S III until closer to the device's launch.
