Pantech Star Q coming soon to Verizon 4G LTE

Thanks to an anonymous tipster, we now have the first look at the upcoming Verizon Pantech Star Q 4G LTE. This device is the successor to last year's Pantech Breakout, and it appears to be aiming for the low price point of $99 on contract.

Highlights of the device include Android 4.0.4, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 4 inch WVGA display, 3 MP rear camera, front-facing camera, 5-row QWERTY keyboard, and Bluetooth 4.0. It's nice to see Android 4.x and the new Snapdragon S4 processor, but the low resolution display and camera are disappointing.

We don't know exactly when the device will hit stores, but it's already appearing in NenaMark benchmarks and a tester has upload some sample pics to Picassa. Verizon's current low-end QWERTY slider phones, the LG Enlighten and Samsung Stratosphere, both came out last year, so we should see the Pantech Star Q enter the lineup soon.

The Pantech Q probably won't win over any of the hardcore fans, but it will attract an audience with its low price point, fast 4G LTE, and speedy Snapdragon S4 chip.
